Villa M Private 2013

The Upper Vinschgau Valley is known for its unique natural resources: in the municipality of Laas, beneath the Ortler massif, pure white marble is quarried that, thanks to its structural qualities and durability, has been valued for centuries as a building material for castles, palaces, magnificent façades and monuments.

Villa M revisits this distinctive tradition in a timeless, modern interpretation. Not far from Laas, in the village of Mals in the Upper Vinschgau, the building rises like a monolith from the green valley floor. Linear incisions and movements mean the interior of the villa merges with the exterior, visually emphasising the marble’s formal characteristics.
