FORESTIS Villa

This architectural rarity, dating from 1912, was designed as a private residence for the physicians attending the nearby sanatorium. Playful loggias, ornaments and generously proportioned rooms all bear witness to the architectural heritage of the Wilhelminian and Art Nouveau eras.

The challenge was to reconstruct this Alpine villa down to the last detail in accordance with the original hand-drawn plans, all while ensuring it met the requirements of a sustainable, future-proof business. The architects worked closely with the Office for Monument Preservation and specialist restorers to renovate or renew floors, ceilings, furniture, and so on using traditional craft methods.

The historic interior is complemented by newly designed bathrooms and a spa in a linear design that harmonises with the historic elements that – along with a lighting concept modelled on art and museum exhibitions – underlines the villa’s historic character.
